About Us

The Teleproduction Group (TPG-Atlanta) was formed in 1983 in Charlotte, North Carolina by television director and photographer Barry Dycus. In 1984, to better serve the Southeastern United States, the company was moved to Atlanta, Georgia. With the addition of photographer Ray Sullivan in the late 1980s, TPG-Atlanta quickly evolved into a national presence in high quality television production in both film and video.

TPG-Atlanta has earned a reputation for creative image making, exemplary client relations and constantly striving for excellence in television production. For its continued pursuit of the highest standards in today's marketplace, The Teleproduction Group has been recognized as a National Emmy Award winner.

Barry Dycus has a Master of Science degree in Photography and Film Education, a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio, Television and Motion Pictures, and an Associate of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts and Photography. Barry grew up working on national commercial sound stages and now has 28 years of experience in lighting for both still and motion picture photography. With a career résumé that includes Lighting Director for ABC's "Monday Night Football" and Director of Photography for the ESPN-ABC Emmy award winning series "Fifty Greatest Atheletes," Barry's list of national clients continues to grow.

Ray Sullivan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and has been in production for over 17 years, working in both Television and Motion Pictures. Ray began his career working on Atlanta sound stages and is qualified by Chapman for their cranes and dollies. Since joining TPG-Atlanta he has lensed many network projects including the Emmy award winning "SportsCentury" series, and recently "The Hunt for the Lost Squadron," airing on the History Channel.

Through years of working in the television production industry, The Teleproduction Group has formed many wonderful relationships with some of the most talented freelance workers in the business. TPG-Atlanta calls upon these talents to create the finest crews available in Atlanta and all over the world.
